The music world is littered with different genres and sub-genres, and it may need to create a new one for Lotus and their unique combination of electronica and jam-band styles. Formed at a Mennonite college in 1999, Lotus has been touring and recording constantly, much to the delight of their rabid fans and music enthusiasts alike.  Although they have recorded three studio albums, Lotus' reputation rests on the strength of their explosive live shows. Employing synths and drum machines, Lotus creates insanely danceable music while, at the same time, incorporating elements of post-rock through their enormous guitar riffs. Few bands are moving in the direction Lotus is going. They are true trailblazers, pushing the boundaries between genres and creating something new and alive.
