Water & Wine

Contained Exhibition

Water & Wine is a study of the social significance of bars and churches along Western Pennsylvania's rivers of industry. A multi-media installation, it replicates and modifies various physical elements of these two iconic Pittsburgh spaces to create a blended space in which visitors can explore how religious and secular life have intersected, diverged and influenced each other over time and across space in our city. It is also an exploration of how our region's distinctive geography - and the major bodies of water that characterize it - have also shaped neighborhood social dynamics and contribute to the creation of these unique places. Water & Wine is part bar, part altar, part living map.
