Thanks for taking our survey

Many thanks to the 428 people who took the time to take our survey about the 2010 Festival, and to the dozens of people who emailed me or commented on the blog. We take these survey responses very seriously, and your feedback is instrumental in shaping future Festivals.
Now, if only you could all agree!
I think that the Arts Festival was once again good BUT too short. We came on the first Saturday, paid ten follars for parking, walked across to the festival and was then met with pouring rain for the next several hours. I tried to shop and did manage to spend several hundred dollars rather quickly but was not able to return as by the time we tried to come again, the festival was over.
Also, there is too much emphasis on live entertainment. These craftsman spend hundreds of dollars to come to show and sell their wares. I know taht the entertainment brings people to the festival but are these the people who are spending their dollars or just coming in for free entertainment? That is something to think about. Also, Pittsburgh has a wonderful arts scene–the opera, ballet, sumphony, chamber music—yet almost all of the entertainment is mainstream generic musik?????? How about stuff for us classical music people. Even acoustic guitar, quartet, chamber orchestra…? Even POPS stuff would be better than some of the other entertainment offered…..
Pittsburgh is lucky to have this festival and I know that a lot of hard work goes into making it happen. Please consider extending the days and try to cultural-up the entertainment aspect. We are proud of of city and all that it offers. We have attended other Arts Festivals (most recently, a much smaller version (just a weekend) the KRAIS Festival in St. Joesph, Michigan and also Asheville, North Carolina, New York City’s, Arts in the Park, and many other places. The Three Rivers Arts is nice, but needs to be extended time-wise and perhaps an up in the entertainment—not more–just a bit classier…..if possible. We will be back. Congratulations on all of the hard work. These are just thoughts and suggestions—please don’t take offense. You all do a great job!
