I think that the Arts Festival was once again good BUT too short. We came on the first Saturday, paid ten follars for parking, walked across to the festival and was then met with pouring rain for the next several hours. I tried to shop and did manage to spend several hundred dollars rather quickly but was not able to return as by the time we tried to come again, the festival was over.

Also, there is too much emphasis on live entertainment. These craftsman spend hundreds of dollars to come to show and sell their wares. I know taht the entertainment brings people to the festival but are these the people who are spending their dollars or just coming in for free entertainment? That is something to think about. Also, Pittsburgh has a wonderful arts scene--the opera, ballet, sumphony, chamber music---yet almost all of the entertainment is mainstream generic musik?????? How about stuff for us classical music people. Even acoustic guitar, quartet, chamber orchestra...? Even POPS stuff would be better than some of the other entertainment offered.....

Pittsburgh is lucky to have this festival and I know that a lot of hard work goes into making it happen. Please consider extending the days and try to cultural-up the entertainment aspect. We are proud of of city and all that it offers. We have attended other Arts Festivals (most recently, a much smaller version (just a weekend) the KRAIS Festival in St. Joesph, Michigan and also Asheville, North Carolina, New York City's, Arts in the Park, and many other places. The Three Rivers Arts is nice, but needs to be extended time-wise and perhaps an up in the entertainment---not more--just a bit classier.....if possible. We will be back. Congratulations on all of the hard work. These are just thoughts and suggestions---please don't take offense. You all do a great job!

I was going to do the survey, but it didn't seem quite worth it for me this year. I try to see some part of the festival every year. This year, I was very happy to see the return of the Juried Arts Exhibit although, in some ways, I wish it could be closer to the rest of the activities. It has always been my favorite part of the festival, so thank you for bringing it back. My husband and I also got to attend the film, "Herb & Dorothy" which we enjoyed thoroughly. I don't know if films have been done before, but I thought it was a good idea. I wish I had the chance to see more of the selections. It was convenient for us that it was next to the juried art too. I also got to see the floating Andy Carnegie which was incredibly fun. My son & I were going to the Pirate game and we made time before to find Andy and take some pictures. Thanks for everything.

The Three Rivers Arts Festival was a nice event. I do miss the fact that there is not enough well known talent in the live concerts. There also needs to be more diverse entertainment in the live music lineup; i.e. jazz, pop and R & B in order to cater to our diverse city.

Why don't you consider some branding? T-shirts with the TRAF logo and a line like, "I went to the Three Rivers Arts Festival and got artfully wet". Or how about umbrellas with the logo and raindrops, or hats, or ponchos? Outstanding - in the rain! Come on now, we the public know that the Festival seeks out the rain or is it the other way around? Capitalize on it.

Love how people bitch about FREE concerts. And calling for people to be fired because your favorite bands are not playing.....Really? Stay home and miss out if all you can do is complain. The other thousands and thousands of people will be having a good time.
