Pittsburgh Wunderkind Romances Three Rivers Arts Festival
PITTSBURGH - The string-laden sounds of Pittsburgh's own Ben Hardt and His Symphony grace the Three Rivers Arts Festival, 7:30 pm, Monday, June 9, 2008, on the Festival Main Stage. Special guest Cellofourte opens the show at 6:30 pm. All Three Rivers Arts Festival Main Stage performances are free and open to the public.
2007 WYEP Local Artist of the Year, Ben Hardt is quickly becoming one of the hottest new acts in Pittsburgh. The singer-songwriter and guitarist performs his lush music with an all-female string quartet. His self-titled debut album, which is already garnering critical acclaim, tells the story of star-crossed lovers in World War II-era London.
"Ben Hardt has been making big waves on the local music scene," says Elizabeth Reiss, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Arts Festival. "The Festival couldn't pass up the opportunity to introduce such a talented young artist to a larger audience."
Opening for Hardt is the Pittsburgh band Cellofourte, a four-piece cello rock band. Blurring the line between classical and popular music, Cellofourte blazes their own eclectic musical path.
