Budding Art Entrepreneurs Invited to Festival

PITTSBURGH - The Three Rivers Arts Festival invites the Pittsburgh area's youngest artists to sell their handmade goods alongside their seasoned counterparts at the Duquesne Light Kids Art Mart, 1 - 3:30 pm, Saturday, June 14, 2008, at the Duquesne Light Artists Market at One, Two, and Three Gateway Center Plaza.

"We are excited again this year to be bringing the Duquesne Light Art Mart to showcase the region's budding young artists", says Joseph Vallarian, Duquesne Light spokesperson.

"Art Mart encourages young artists in their own creative ventures, while introducing them to the long-standing Pittsburgh tradition of the Duquesne Light Artists Market," added Sonja Sweterlitsch, Artists Market coordinator.

All forms of original artwork are welcome from artists ages 6-18. Participants are given a 4-foot square display space with an area for hanging two-dimensional art. An exhibitor's t-shirt and a certificate of participation are also included.

Program space is limited. Parents or guardians should register aspiring artists by June 2. To register, visit Duquesne Light's website at www.duquesnelight.com and click on the Art Mart. Duquesne Light will contact artists selected for the program.
