Local Acts with Fresh Sounds Featured on Festival Main Stage

PITTSBURGH - Indie alt-rock band Tangerine brings their moody, guitar-driven sound to the 49th annual Three Rivers Arts Festival, 7:30 pm, Tuesday, June 10, 2008, on the Festival Main Stage. Special guest Una De Luna opens the show at 6:45 pm. All Three Rivers Arts Festival Main Stage performances are free and open to the public.

Since first appearing on the scene in 2002, Tangerine hasn't taken a break - whether it's touring or recording, this band does not know how to slow down. Likened to Coldplay and Keane, Tangerine impressed critics with mature lyrics and memorable hooks. Their 2004 album Songs for the Now and Others Forever was named a top ten release of the year by WYEP.

Opening for Tangerine is Una De Luna, another homegrown Pittsburgh act. With a sound that blends electronica, trip-hop and Indian pop, Una De Luna can truly claim originality. When Una De Luna first formed, they had no intentions of playing live, but urging from friends and fans brought this exciting band to the stage.
